Conder's Piano Service Using training he received while attending The North Carolina School for the Blind and experience in tuning and rebuilding pianos at Jack Call Piano Company in Charlotte and Kidd Frix Pianos in Concord, he set out on his own. He overcame problems common to the visually impaired, such as transportation, and never turned back. Through word-of-mouth advertising, his building reputation allowed him to acquire client after client, until his schedule was always full: pianos everywhere! As a child, my first memories of my father include pianos, somehow.

Pianos for Sale
Report
I have a small collection of heirloom quality vintage and pre-owned pianos, some of which I offer for sale. Please call me at (704) 537-9668 for a complete current description of the pianos I am currently offering, or to schedule an appointment to visit my showrooms. Once I have acquired a piano, it is brought back to my shop and taken apart.
Purchasing Guide
Report
As a self-employed Piano Technician over the last 40 years, I have serviced thousands of pianos, over 100 brands, old and new. I have also observed the level of satisfaction that hundreds of my clients have experienced with their pianos. This "guide" is intended to provide you with information, as well as my professional opinion, to aid you in the decision-making process in purchasing a piano, either new or used. After reading this, if you have any further questions, please contact me and I will be glad to talk to you personally.
Regular Periodic Tuning
Report
Under normal circumstances, a piano in your home, in a constantly controlled climate, and not frequently moved or repositioned, should hold tunings very well. However, whether it is played or not, all pianos should be tuned at least every two (2) years in order to "maintain the pitch" at A440. Many factors cause pianos to get "out of tune."
Tuning After a Move
Report
When a piano is moved, the move itself will not knock a piano out of tune, unless, of course, it is jolted or dropped. However, after a move, a piano will go through some changes that may cause the tuning to vary. These changes will occur over a 2 to 4 week period after the move. If possible, it is a good idea to wait until these changes have taken place and are finished before you have your piano tuned. This acclimation process occurs because of atmospheric variations and can happen even if you only move a piano across a room.
