Services
All rental instruments are school approved brands. All previously rented instruments have been cleaned, sanitized, adjusted and regulated to meet performance and playability standards. For a small additional fee an optional Complete Repair and Replacement Plan (CRRP) covers the instrument if it is damaged or stolen.
Each summer before school starts, when you buy or rent an instrument from Wert Music, we provide two free group classes to help the budding musician get started on his or her music career. Students walk through the steps of how to put the instrument together, how to care for it and the accessories, and most importantly, how to make the first sound!
To RENT an instrument please call 859-727-1138 or go to our RENTALS page for more information. To have us pick up your instrument for repair, call 859-727-1138 to arrange pick up at your school during the school year.

I have been going to Wert Music since the mid 80's. I know that sounds like a long time ago but I still can remember the old store like it was an hour ago. Today, I bought more clarinet reeds for my daughter. I will definitely be back again and again. Hopefully, I will be back with some grandchildren someday.

Very friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable! I get my ukulele and guitar re-strung there, among other things, and I highly recommend it.

Wert Music is a great little music shop that supports the art of music in our schools. It has the interest of passing on the passion of music in the young and old. A family owned business with a passion for the art.

Excellent experience with Haley last night! I called and asked for some information. Haley was friendly, welcoming, and provided complete information! I was able to arrive at the store right away and receive the complete package I needed! She was so kind and helpful in person as well. I will return to Wert's music because of my experience with Haley. Nicole was very kind as well!

We love Werts. My kid meets with Jeff for lessons. He is always willing to reschedule if something changes in our schedule. The front desk workers are always polite.

When you rent from Wert, they'll tell you about how your rental payments build up "equity" that you can use towards the purchase of any new instrument. Sounds pretty cool, right? Well, what they won't tell you is that (i) you can only use up to two years of equity towards a purchase (ii) here's the real kicker.the instrument you purchase must be at RETAIL price. Meaning, the $500 in "equity" can only be redeemed against the $3,000 list price of an instrument that Wert and everyone else is selling "on sale" for $1,500, rendering the equity a useless sales gimmick.

The sale prices anywhere are better than anything you can buy at Wert with "equity". I would look for a good used instrument on Craigslist or eBay for almost half the price of new. I would only recommend Wert if you need an instrument for a few months to try out and see if your child will stick to it.

We have been using this store for my son's instrument needs (private lessons and now school band). The prices are relatively comparable to other places we've checked, though I've not shopped online as I feel out of my element and need some assistance. The staff is knowledgeable but I've found them to be less-than-accommodating.

They sort of act like the customer is a bit of a burden. I've been in a few times, always in the evenings, and always get the vibe that my presence is bothering them. I will say they made the process of renting a band instrument quite easy (hence the higher rating).

My daughter turned her instrument in before the end of school for exchange of another instrument. She did not receive the other instrument, yet they continued to charge me. I called and left a message, but they never bothered to return my call. I got the band teacher involved and was told I was to receive a refund. After 2+ weeks of no refund, I called, the account manager testy to start, which brought my nails out.

She was short and rude in her mannerism. I explained the situation over and over again and instead of trying to find a solution, she continued to say that we had not returned the instrument. 2 things, the company should have better communication between the office staff and their technicians, because that instrument had indeed been returned, it just wasn't updated in their records and the account manager should try being a little more professional.

I probably wouldn't have gotten so upset if she wouldn't have been rude from the moment she picked up the phone. I am honestly considering finding another location to get the instrument I need.

This music store is severely overpriced! I went in needing some baritone saxophone reeds and a neck strap. The dealer said that he was going to give me a discount on a box of reeds, because I am a student at CCM, for $50. I can get them on wwbw.com for $35 and ships for free. Then I asked about the legere signature series synthetic reeds. He was going to sell one of those to me for $40. on wwbw.com they are $29, also ships for free.

I then asked about a baritone sax neck strap but unfortunately they were sold out. Don't go here if you are looking for common instrument needs that you can order online. Wait the extra couple of days and save yourself a lot of money. Wert may be a great place to send your kids for lessons after school, but don't pay to much when their are other cheaper alternatives!
