We are proud to present Maine's largest piano gallery, a locally-owned business since 1951. Starbird Piano Gallery offers grand & upright acoustic pianos; hybrid pianos such as Disklavier, Transacoustic, & AvantGrand; digital pianos; and portable keyboards- from the world's #1 instrument manufacturer, Yamaha. We also feature a wide variety of reputable used pianos, such as Kawai, Steinway, Mason & Hamlin, and Petrof.

We carry a small selection of piano-focused sheet music & piano accessories. Our services include piano storage, and piano rental for short-term & long-term, for both acoustic & digital pianos.

Tuning & Service Appointments Report

Our field technicians offer in-home piano services including: Tuning, Repairs, Regulation, and Climate-control systems (DamppChaser). WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE REQUESTS SOONER THAN ONE WEEK Appointments are available weekdays during normal business hours. Please enter three dates below, starting at least one week from today. If you require a different day, or timing outside normal business hours, please describe your situation, and we may be able to accommodate.

There are NO COMMISSIONS here, and we are wholly committed to uniting the right piano with the right person. You can have as much -or as little- of our attention as you want while you are visiting, and you can have as many visits as you want.

Showroom Appointments Report

To ensure the highest regard for customer and employee safety, we are booking showroom visits by appointment. Customers must agree to follow our safety guidelines, which will be emailed prior to the scheduled visit. If you require a different day, or timing outside normal business hours, please describe your situation, and we may be able to accommodate.

Piano Storage Inquiry Report

Our normal storage rate is $100/month. If you would like to store your piano with us, please read and agree to the full terms and provide your information below. In most cases, you will also need to fill out a Moving Inquiry- although we can accept your piano delivery to our warehouse by appointment.

I had a family heirloom upright piano moved by the folks at Starbird. They made the move with amazing care and precision through a difficult and tight entry way with turn up a flight of stars. I was afraid my piano would have to stay in storage. I had a wonderful experience with this company.

I used them to move my piano from New Hampshire to Maine 2.5 hours away. Two people came and did a good job. The price was very fair for piano moving $800.00. I would recommend.

Not open until 5 on Sundays, not open on Sundays at all, had to drive to Portland to figure that out. Advertise the actual hours!

John, our salesman, was very considerate and patient. He spent time listening to what we needed and sold us a piano based on our needs, not based on what he wanted us to buy. Another gentleman helped us with loading. Overall, the experience was excellent. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for a professional and fun experience.
