We at Roffman Band Instrument Service realize that the high cost of a quality band instrument can be a deterrent from playing an instrument. We offer an alternative low cost, high quality, name brand horn without having to settle for an inexpensive and sometimes poorly made instrument from a big box store or internet auction site. All our restorations come with a warranty that the instrument will play right, sound right and look as good as possible. After graduation from Postville High school Susan Roffman began her band instrument repair career at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City Iowa in 1974. Upon graduation in 1975 her first repair technician position was for Pearl West, owner of West Music in Coralville Iowa. After 7 years Sue moved on to the Music Corner in Waterloo Iowa.
Roffman Band Instrument Service offers high quality, refurbished, student line rent to own instruments for those with youngsters ready to begin their musical education in school music programs. Our rent to own instrument (RTO) program is designed to help everyone participate in band. All of our used instruments have been through our shop, the woodwinds have been repadded and the brasswinds and percussion have been thoroughly cleaned with any needed factory replacement parts installed such as valves and tuning slides and dents removed.
Roffman Band Instrument Service is pleased to be an authorized Oscar Schmitt/Washburn guitar dealer. We offer a variety of finishes, woods and models starting at a 3/4 size starter package to full sized dreadnought instruments. Several instruments have active electronic pickups for amplified capabilities while still retaining acoustic characteristics.
