We contacted the owner Phil Helliger at Maryland piano regarding the purchase of our piano on the recommendation of a local music store. After several contacts and multiple follow-ups, Phil finally came to our home to look at the piano. He indicated that he would like to do some research and get back to us. Days later with no response, I finally called Phil who indicated he was on the road and would call me back.

We never heard from Phil again. Ghosting by any business is not only incredibly unprofessional, it is beyond rude. We gave Maryland Piano the courtesy of giving them time to make an offer and a simple, "I'm not interested" would have saved us days of waiting to sell the piano. Suffice it to say that I am disappointed at the complete lack of professionalism which calls into question the overall integrity of Maryland Piano. I would not want to do business with them.

Phil and Maryland piano have been tuning out piano for years, after having delivered it in the first place. They are fun, on time, do an excellent job, and at a fair price. I love the mini-concert from Phil when the job is done!

They are the best! Polite, Professional and they treat your piano as if it was their own. Have used Phil and his crew now for over 20 years! As I said, they are the best.

These guys are ALWAYS on their A game. I've had my very difficult baby grand piano moved three times already by Phil and his team (Matt is great to work with!) and today will be the 4th. I have been consistently pleased with their service and professionalism--especially after dealing with the nightmare of 4 military PCS moves.

My wife and I have used Maryland Piano to tune, repair and move our player piano. Excellent results on each occasion. Phil has exhibited great expertise in each area. Very pleased and highly recommend. Will continue to use Maryland Piano in the future.

My son always wanted a "real" piano and I kept telling him we could not afford one. Only when we went to Maryland Piano did I understand that a wonderful used, reconditioned piano was in our price range. This piano has been well loved and used by our son who has chosen music as his life's work. He has grown up and moved out, and now I am taking piano lessons.

They have a great selection of used pianos which have been restored to excellent condition. Something in every price range, and they will help decide what is right for you. They do not rush you. Also, they come every six months to my home and tune the piano. They are prompt and professional and maintain my old, but still resonant piano.

Maryland Piano is THE place for everything and anything having to do with a piano! A friend of mine found a piano on Craig's list for free, moving costs only. Phil, the owner, went to look at it for me and deemed it worthy although it needed some repairs. He then talked with the previous owners to schedule pick up of the instrument, took it to his shop, fixed it up, and delivered it to our home for incredibly reasonable (perhaps even cheap!) pricing.

Anything we have needed since then, Phil has been amazing with both followup and service. I not only endorse and recommend Maryland Piano, but am a huge fan of their workmanship, expertise and professionalism!

Super knowledgable, great to work with. Phil offers expertise and a great spirit. Pricing is competitive and the long term care in the relationship makes Maryland Piano a fantastic value. Highly recommend!

I own a 9 foot Steinway concert grand that I bought new in Cincinnati, Ohio. The cost of the instrument is somewhere in the neighborhood of 140 thousand dollars. For this kind of investment Phil, the owner of Maryland Piano always tunes the Steinway and keeps it in tip top shape. I even bought a system that regulates the humidity for the piano. I also had the action regulated by Maryland piano.

Their work has always been top shelf and they have kept the instrument sounding wonderful. I use Maryland Piano for ALL of my piano needs. Also Phil and Nancy Heiliger always respond quickly to any of my phone calls.

As a restorer of mechanical organs, I must deal with unloading and loading these instruments at my shop. Even disassembled, there are some very heavy and fragile parts which require great finesse and expertise in handling. I have found this ability with Phil and his crew at Maryland Piano. They have moved about six organs for me over the years. Never any damage to the instrument or building. They are the best!

I was very pleased with the service I received from Phil and his crew. Phil was very responsive to my email inquiries about his piano moving service and very accommodating with the schedule. On the date of the moving, Phil gave me a call to give me an update on the expected time of arrival and even offered to move earlier because of the forecast for rain (who wants their piano to get wet?).

During the move, Phil and his crew worked really hard and efficiently to get my piano moved to my house. When the move was completed, Phil called me to update me and also let me know that the piano needed some tuning. He gave me a reminder call several weeks later for tuning and I happily signed up for it. Phil spent several hours tuning my piano, which hadn't been tuned for more than a decade and was awfully out of tune.

He was meticulous! The end result - perfectly in-tune, beautiful, crisp sounds coming out of my piano! It made a HUGE difference, and I am so happy about it. I highly recommend this company for piano moving and tuning services. If you care about your piano, have Phil and his crew do the work for you; don't rely on a residential moving company.
