Services
Our facility is proud to be an authorized warranty service center for the Taylor, Martin, Gibson, Fender, and Ibanez brands. Our Repair Service dates back to 1967, when Dan Erlewine founded the The Guitar Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dan was not only the local repair person, he built guitars for prominent players such as Albert King, Jerry Garcia, and Otis Rush to name a few.
Throughout my career I have been searching for the truth, stripping the instrument down to its most basic form to unlock tonal excellence. This laid the groundwork for the development of my Computer Assisted Voicing approach that delivers a clear, open bell-like tone with the response to inspire the most demanding players and engineered reliability to protect my customer's investment.
Some of the worlds finest Luthiers have passed through Bryan's doors, together they have challenge the boundaries of guitar making and changed the course of Lutherie. Aside form Bryan's personal projects that seemingly have no end, each Luthier is required to actively build and promote their personal line of guitars.

One of the greatest repair shops in the world and home to some of the country's greatest instrument builders. Bryan Galloup is known for more than his $20,000 and up guitars. More than his famous apprenticeship under the one and only Dan Erlewine. His school and repair shop have done some of the most intense repairs I have ever seen. Some folks say they have been refused there before, I can state that if they refuse a job they have the best reason in the universe for doing so.

As a side note, some repairs are very expensive and they pride themselves on not only repairing the repairable but also leading customers into making good decisions about their investments. Not every broken guitar is a good investment. That is just a fact. The abundance of knowledge and hands on understanding at this repair shop is unmatched by anything I have seen in Michigan including Elderly instruments in my hometown of Lansing.

They do really good work there too, but Galloup is Galloup for a reason. The guitars they build are otherworldly, and their professionalism is unparalleled. One of the greatest experiences of my life was getting to know these folks and receive my training at their school. Give it a look if you find yourselves in Big Rapids. If they have the time they will give you a nice tour of the facility.

Just be courteous and give them a phone call to let them know you are coming. They are very busy running the best repair shop, building the best guitars, and running the best school in the country for guitar building and repair.

One of those hidden gems that you can easily overlook, and be sad you did. Bryan build me a guitar back in 2012, and is still the finest guitar I have played to this day. They have also done some repair on a couple instruments of mine, and the work was phenomenal. You just have to be a little patient, because the turnaround time is a bit long. but hey, you can't rush something if you want it done right.

I have a a family heirloom guitar that they won't even look at because they claim the repair will be more than the value. I guess they only care about fixing and preserving instruments when it easy. At least elderly instruments will look at it and other luthiers said they would fix it. PLEASE avoid the heart break and go somewhere else. I will try to find someone else now!

I heard very good things about Galloup Guitars and learned that they were one of just 3 guitar repair facilities authorized by Martin Guitar Co. for service work in all of West Michigan. So I made an appointment with Galloup to do a set up on my two month old Martin 000-28. Andy at Galloup did an awesome set up & restring for me! Everyone at Galloup was so nice & friendly!

The staff even took me on a tour of the school facility & showed me some finished hand built guitars! This is truly a one of a kind place that you have to see to believe! My guitar plays & sounds like a dream now, I couldn't be happier with their work & advise!
