Services
John began working on guitars with his father, Scott Baxendale. He started in 1996 at his father's little shop in the Denver Folklore Center repairing old Kay and Harmony student model guitars. John moved Colorado Guitar Company to a home based shop in Bayfield, CO so that he could focus on his true passion, building his JC Baxendale Handmade Guitars.

I had a crack that I didn't think was there when I dropped it off. John disagreed and said it was, but took care of it nonetheless.

I brought John a hundred year old Bruno parlor guitar that had not been played in 20 years. He built a new bridge, repaired a few cracks, etc. It is WONDERFUL! Absolute joy to play! Thanks john.

Neck reset for vintage acoustic. Plays and sounds great, and the intonation is perfect.

Experts, My guitar was new from the factory and it needed some tweaking, Co Guitary Co knew just what to do. It now plays much easier and smoother. Great techs who know guitars.

Expert luthiers who know their craft and do it very well. If you need a repair on an acoustic or electric guitar these people can do. I am amazed from body work to pickups.they can handle any job. You will pay for their expertise, but I have yet to find a guitar shop as helpful on repairs as this shop.

Went in to get 3 guitars restrung and have their action re-set up. The man that was there acted like I was wasting his time and he had better things to do. Before we even talked price or anything he says "I am at least 3 weeks out on getting to them." He didn't even have time to engage me at his front counter.just said it and went back to work. I ended up using Drum City Guitarland. It is a 30 minute drive but at least they treat you like thay want you there and they do good fast work.

I've been wanting to check this place out to set up my acoustic and swap pups on my bass, but haven't had chance yet. My son needed new guitar strings and I told my wife to go here. They barely gave her the time of day and could not have cared less she was there. If they don't want my small business, they won't get my bigger business.

Just pick up my guitars after getting a good old tune up and could not be happier. I had an acoustic and electric worked on and they both turned out great! I look forward to having more work done on my guitars here and would recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of repair or tune ups!

I don't know anything about guitars and these guys were super helpful and friendly. Restored my grandpa's 1915 gibson that was left to me, and for a great price. If for some reason I had future guitar needs, this will be the place I go!
