To you the customer this means "color and finish of the period" as well as a moisture and alcohol resistant finish, with color that defines the grain character. All of this at a competitive price. Services
We are regulars at the NAMM conventions and we work hard to continue our education to stay ahead of the curve for future piano technologies. We can restore your instrument to its original specifications with all new parts design to fit your piano, or if you wish it, we can take your piano and outfit it with the best parts available, to increase its performance beyond its original capabilities.
We price our pianos in such a way that there are no surprising added costs on your receipt. Many stores will attempt to sell you basic things as an add on. For example, we include delivery within 50 miles. Typical piano move costs range from $250.00 to $400.00. There is nothing more aggrivating than purchasing a piano and then having a sales person ask if you wanted the matching bench.
Our Family has shops in Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, and 2 in Minnesota: Savage, Lakeville. If you are planning to come into the shop please call ahead to make certain that we are not out on a delivery. While there are no appointments necessary to come into the shop and take a tour, we would be dissapointed if we missed you.

Jeff and Tim Ackerman are not only great at what they do but, so friendly! We've been customers for many years and our 1903 grand piano loves them, too.

Ackerman's really know their stuff. It makes such a difference to deal with people who are professionals. They have years, generations of knowledge about all things piano. I have dealt with them several times and always come away knowing that our piano was in the best possible hands. Thanks, guys!

I was really excited to find a local piano restoration/service in my hometown of Lakeville. Sadly, I must give this company a thumbs down in customer service. I have called twice for a paino tuning and some minor repair. Both requests went unanswered as if they just forgot about me. The second time I called I thought it was strange in that instead of making a firm date to tune my piano they put me on a list and never got back to me.

Not OK. I found someone else to tune and service my baby grand. These guys maybe good at restoration, but from experience, everything else is sub par. Recommendation, find someone else. UPDATE: Tim, the owner called me several times after I posted this feedback form. He felt terrible about the situation and apologized repeatedly. I misunderstood the procedure Ackerman Piano sales and service had in place for tuning. Tim promply took care of me and offered me a free tuning by an expert whom I felt very comfortable with and will most likely use in the near future! Thank you so much for caring enough about your business to take care of your customers!

Easy to work with. So happy to explain everything. We're a musical family and happy to buy a piano from people that are so passionate about what they do.

Purchased my first piano here and I love it! Just came in to play on a few pianos and it was a great experience, no pushy sales people!

Did a nice job refinishing a dented grand but the tech, who was paid to reset the keys left it like this. He drove an hour and a half one way to do a half-hearted job.
