I've been working with Chris for the past few months, and he has really challenged me to learn more complex strum patterns, new chords, and singing as I play. In the beginning, I didn't think my brain would be able to comprehend everything, but here we are. Chris is extremely patient (I'm a true beginner) and has been flexible with my schedule when needed. He brings the structure to learning guitar that I need, and I feel like I've truly progressed in the time I've been taking lessons.

Chris is a great teacher and I recommend him if you are ready to learn. He did a great job of quickly determining my skill level and we went right to work. I had lessons many years ago with another person and I can say that Chris has accelerated my learning far faster than my previous experience. We waste no time in the lesson. It's well worth the cost.

Chris has been instrumental in my development as a guitar player! When I started lessons, I was self-taught and had been playing for a couple of years, but Chris took my skills to the next level. He taught me solo improvising, how to transcribe songs by ear, and introduced me to exercises that improved my speed and precision. His lessons are always practical and encouraging, and within just the first few sessions, I gained so much confidence in my technique and playing style. I've been learning acoustic guitar from Chris for 1.5 years now. While I have a musical background, that was over three decades ago. So my body doesn't have the same dexterity and flexibility now.
Chris is great in working with you and your abilities. Some of his curriculum is meant to challenge, but it's tailored to you. And he understands your interest level and what you hope to get out of the lessons.
Going for my weekly lesson is more like hanging with a friend and getting some education. He's patient and easy-going. He makes it fun, which is how it should be!

Chris is an excellent guitar instructor that I would highly recommend to anyone. In the four months that I have worked with Chris, I have improved from only being able to play parts of a couple songs to being able to comfortably improv over a blues progression. It has been a pleasant experience taking my son to Chris's studio for almost two years, even though my son has speech problems and struggles to understand commands, he has made a lot of progress with the patience that Chris has had, and my son has improved quite a bit as much as with his guitar as well as academically, because this has helped him a lot in school, thank you very much Chris.

Highly recommend Chris as a teacher. I started as an absolute beginner guitar player, and I'm pleased with the progress I've made so far. He's a patient teacher who provides helpful instruction. He's also been flexible with me on weeks when I prefer an online lesson vs. in-person. I've had a very positive guitar learning experience with Chris.

As a self-taught adult player who wanted some structure and to figure out what I didn't know that I didn't know, Chris has been absolutely incredible for the past three months I've been taking lessons. I thought virtual music lessons might be awkward, but he's both made me feel accomplished and confident with what I've learned while pushing me JUST enough that I'm always challenged. Even others have noticed how much more musical my playing sounds already! Lessons have been a highlight of my last couple months- I can't recommend enough.

I've been taking lessons with Chris for almost 2 years, it's been transformational for my guitar playing and performing. I'm 50 and I never would have thought I could stand up and perform in front of people but he really knows how to build a player up! I started with almost zero knowledge and I now have binders full of lessons and musical knowledge that I will carry with me the rest of my life. The other amazing thing is we did it all entirely over Zoom! He's worked with me on both the acoustic and electric guitar, he's patient and an excellent teacher!! I take one hour a week lesson and it's really one of the best investments in myself I've ever made!!

Im an adult beginner and Im far more accustomed to keyboarding on a computer than playing guitar. Chris is very patient and selects music that is challenging and enjoyable but not overwhelming. Now that my kids are a little older, I wanted to learn guitar, which has been life-long dream. Chris makes this experience possible. Oh and if you are wondering, yes, I did start the guitar by downloading play guitar apps. But I couldnt advance past a few basic lessons. Working with Chris, Im making great progress. He is an excellent teacher.

I am currently a high school student and have been Mr. Primeau's student for a few years. When I first got lessons I didn't know anything about guitar, but now I can play many songs and know how to read tabs and music notes. At my first lesson, he immediately made me feel comfortable and quickly assessed my musical skill, formatting the lesson to be a class that I would learn the best in. His teaching method is very effective and he let's you choose the songs that you want to play and teaches you how to play them in a friendly and easy to understand way while also helping you improve your performance skills. He creates a positive learning environment that makes it fun to learn new songs and he communicates with you so that you get to learn what you are interested in the most. I've had a great experience with him for the past few years, and I couldn't recommend anyone better to learn guitar from.

My experience with Primeau Guitar Studio has been great! When I came to Chris, I had a few years of guitar playing under my belt but had been stuck in a rut for quite some time. After a few years of learning how to play guitar on my own, mainly through youtube videos, I hit a plateau with the instrument. I knew that if I ever wanted to truly be able to play I needed to find an instructor and get past the casual "camp fire" songs that were about all I knew. I learned of Primeau Guitar Studio through researching options on Google and reading reviews, and in the past 8 or so months that I have been taking lessons from Chris Primeau my improvements have even impressed myself. It is great to have an instructor you trust meet you individually once a week; the lessons challenge me and get me to keep up with the practicing all while feeling personalized to my interests and pace. I highly recommend Chris, he has made me a better guitar player and taught me a whole new way to look at the instrument.

For Christmas of 2015, one of the gifts I was fortunate to receive was a new Martin acoustic guitar AND some guitar lessons. Chris was initially chosen because of his proximity to our home, but he's proven to be a great choice. He is patient and attuned to what I want to learn and realizes people want different things out of their lessons. Some want to learn various styles and techniques, and others want to learn a way to express a few songs that they love. I happen to fall in the latter of those two, and Chris has been great at helping me learn the songs I want to learn. I recommend him strongly to everyone one wanting to improve their playing.

When I started I didn't even know how to hold a guitar. Now I have been taking lessons with Chris for about 9 months and he has taken me from utterly hopeless beginner to playing real (mostly) recognizable songs! He is endlessly patient, non-judgemental, especially about my subpar singing voice, and a great teacher. Fast forward to 2015: I decide to dust off my guitar, find Primeau Guitar on Yelp, and give it another go. In about the same span of time with Chris, I've improved and learned substantially more than I had previously, but most importantly, I've had a good time doing it.
Chris is a great teacher and really good natured guy, and he'll encourage you even while you're completely mangling a song. He tailors your lessons based on your preferences and what you want to get out of playing, which makes me that much more motivated to practice.

After a few years of playing accordion I decided to learn guitar in order to further my understanding of my musical tastes. Chris started me off with some basics, and from there has adapted to my background and interests by providing me with a mix of technical exercises and material designed to develop theoretical knowledge.
Chris is personable and fun to talk to about mutual interests while I am setting up or cleaning up, but class time is focused and efficient. He is extremely knowledgeable about music, and any time I mentioned something I have been thinking about or experimenting with he has helpful comments, suggestions, exercises, or practice routines for me depending on the situation. He has done an excellent job of developing a challenging program for me that meets my specific needs. I definitely recommend taking lessons with Chris.

First and foremost, Chris is a great teacher. He has a tremendous depth of knowledge, loads of patience, and a variety of ways to get the objective met. I started taking lessons from him about a year ago, and he has been able to take a 52-year old, rhythmically challenged guy and actually teach me to play! Chris also does a fantastic job of knowing how to build on one's abilities and expand them. Book lessons now!

Chris has been instructing my 10 yr old son for the last 24 months. The results have been incredible. Aidan has progressed greatly and now is a passionate guitar player.
