Situated in the pretty hills of eastern Middle Tennessee where music is a way of life. Terry Webb and family owned the shop. Terry has been playing music since the age of 5. Starting with a banjo when his arms could not reach the end of the neck. At age 6 his father bought his 2nd and real guitar. At age 7, he was playing on stage with local bands. Beyond his family, music fills his life.


Our shop, situated on the side of a mountain near Sparta, TN, provides professional quality repair and restoration of fretted instruments such as guitars, banjos, mandolins, etc. We are an authorized warranty repair center for Martin, Fender, Taylor, and Ovation, and are a dealer for several best quality musical instruments including guitars made by Huss & Dalton, J.W. Gallagher & Son, and Taylor.



A little history of Rush's Music: In 1955, Bob Rush came to Knoxville to work at Cherokee Music, a store with main offices in Louisville Kentucky. In three years Bob knew he could do it better and had an idea that would eventually revolutionize the industry. Bob established Rush's Music in 1958 as a store specializing in school band programs.

The String Workshop is a family run business began in 1987 by Jonathan Goldstein and Deborah Pappas. Jonathan was a fresh graduate of the Red Wing school of string instrument repair and construction. Our aim has been to set the benchmark for quality, service and value for violin and guitar family repairs and restorations.
