Sean Barrett is the senior musical advisor for Six String Place and is widely acknowledged to be the one of the most versatile guitarists from the Detroit area. He recently placed second in the Fingerstyle Guitar magazine classical guitar composition competition sponsored by the Grammy winning classical guitarist Andrew York.

Recently re-opened with a new repair guy, Paul, who came from Elderly Instruments repair team. The intonation was messed up so my bar chords always sounded out of tune. Paul fixed it quickly and accurately for less cost than I anticipated. Highly recommend!

Great place to shop for guitars, amplifiers, accessories, etc, as well as music lessons and instruction. They also have an on-site recording studio as well as some of the best folks within the music community. Fantastic place!

After searching MANY guitar shops across several counties for a new guitar, I stumbles upon Six String Place. I purchased a Greg Bennett design Samick acoustic/electric almost 3 years ago and am in love with it's sound, tone, feel, action, etc. I've been to several Guitar Center locations, Elderly, Marshall Music, Best Buy, White Bros and many more, but I never got the personal one-on-one interaction like I did with Don at 6SP. I will never go anywhere else for ANY of my guitar needs.
