Piccolo's Music & Repair So you've poked around our site, checked out our inventory, maybe found something you can't live without. Now you want to know, "Who am I dealing with?" At Piccolo's the answer is simple: Musicians. What, no hoards of undead in telephone headsets? Nope. When you call us you're talking to a musician surrounded by actual musical instruments and gear, right here in the store.

We can have your dream guitar (or mandolin, violin, etc.) in hand while we talk to you. We'll even play it over the phone- although given the sonic qualities of your average telephone, we'd also be happy to talk about how it sounds.

This place sells great reeds and fixing instruments is super awesome to do here, they make it pretty quick and have good quality items. This is a very welcoming business and the main guy knows lots about these instruments.

Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The only reason I didn't.givemit five Stars, (and that applies to 98% of music stores) is because of the marginal availability of left handed equipment. Also, this shop is not a Gibson retailer.

We just dropped in to waste a little time before lunch, and I was really impressed with the selection, and the help that we got from the sales people! Ended up walking out with this Toca workhorse cajon. The sound is great, and the price is certainly affordable. The sound port on the back gives it a subwoofer depth comparable to much more expensive models. I highly recommend stopping by when you're in the area and checking them out.

A certain reviewer's wild rant is terribly offensive. Piccolos has been in business for many years and has survived so long for a reason. Barb Piccolo is a conscientious friendly businesswoman and musician who has the utmost love and respect for local musicians. Her experienced staff has been with her for a long time. It's possible this gentleman had some difficulty with something but his disparaging personal comments about Barb and John are way off the mark.

Anyone who knows them would agree. When reading this fellow's review please take into account that he may have had some emotional problems at the time that contributed to such an attack on this upstanding family.

Super knowledgeable, stopped in to grab some guitar related items while doing laundry next door. Awesome inventory, however due to manufacturers being behind they didn't have any 12-String guitars which I am in the market for. The did have a lefty 12-String. They mentioned he has ordered 15 and they have been on back order for quite some time.

Had a Stratocaster guitar I picked up off a dude in a parking lot in Bozeman for a steal. Brought it in for a simple tuning, setup and string change. Found out there were cracks all throughout the body. Sad Straturday that was. Alas, it's not worth a whole lot but I love this instrument still and the crew back at Piccolo's we're able to do a glue job to hold it a little while longer while I say my goodbyes and search out my next guitar. All in all can't say enough about Fred, John, Ryan and everyone else I have had the pleasure of doing business with since I moved up from Bozeman 3 months ago.

Piccolos is one of the few brick and mortar stores left. If you want to sit on your couch and get a violin string, go to Big Impersonal Box on your cell phone. If you want to talk to musicians who will help you, get off your butt and walk in the door. Piccolo's is well-stocked, although small, but they'll order for you what they don't have. Shop local. It'll make you feel good.

Terrible online business. They just ignore the order for three weeks, not replying to email, contact messages for three weeks. Sloppiest business

Bought a cheap fiddle in a junk store in Helena, and thought I would have to wait to get back to the big city to get the sound post set up & broken bits replaced. Imagine my surprise when John said he could do it and had some bits of parts I was welcome to look through. result: fiddle set up and working within minutes. impressive. full service music store. I'm rating as "inexpensive" because the repair cost was very low.
