Services
There are two Lehmann models patterned after the Selmer/Maccaferri guitars popularized by Django Reinhardt in the 1930's: The Model Manouche, and the Model Eclipse. The Model Manouche, with the large "D" shaped soundhole has a rich tone, and the Model Eclipse with its small oval soundhole has a bright tone.
The Contempo Model archtop draws its inspiration from the great archtop guitars of the mid-20th Century with some decidedly 21st Century additions. The Lehmann archtop is constructed as a solo style guitar or as a rhythm style instrument. The solo style has an "X" braced top that tends to make the tone sweet and lyrical.
Model 2000 is my latest concept in fine guitars for the fingerstylist. It incorporates a ribbed, vaulted back that not only looks stunning, but affects the tone in several positive ways. The volume is increased by focusing the sound towards the soundhole. This in turn lends an amazing clarity of tone, which is ideal for recording and amplification.
Designed for the crossover Jazz or steel string player, the Cadenza offers a familiar feel with nylon stringing. It features a 14-fret neck with a cutaway for easy access to high frets, and a narrower 1 7/8 nut width. Prices starting at $4100.

Brought my guitar here to have nut replaced, some chipped finish near the tuners repaired and setup done. Setup was done nicely and I really enjoy the new nut, everything was done at an affordable price, but took away a star because a fresh scratch was left near the front of the head stock.

These guys are amazing! My daughter broke a string 30 minutes prior to a guitar lesson, and two other shops couldn't help me. I ran in with only 15 minutes-- they dropped everything, fixed the string (including replacing a missing screw) and we made the lesson! He was super nice, didn't give us a hard time about not planning ahead, and got us on our way for $10! GREAT WORK! I will never go anywhere else again for guitar repairs! My go to guys from now on!

Bernie is a longtime friend and my son's former scoutmaster. But mostly he's an excellent, gifted, and creative double artist. His paintings are extraordinary and his guitar crafting and repair is a labor of love and beauty.

Scratches left around pickups rings. Said he had issues installing flat pickup rings. That part of repair was too pricey. Readjust action which is normal. Time will tell about fingerboard glueing. Good person and his guitars are very nice.

Whenever I buy another guitar I take it to Bernie before I take it home for him to set it up, he's the best. Excellent workmanship at a reasonable price, what else could you ask for. Not to mention he's a nice guy.

Bernie is my regular repair and setup guy, and he built me an incredible acoustic guitar. He is extremely knowledgeable and reliable, and his work is second to none. Rochester is very lucky to have such a skilled craftsman in this day and age.

Great instrument repair shop. Bernie has been fixing instruments for me for years and he does so with great craftsmanship and humor. He was able to take an upright bass that had seen the worst of 10 years in a hot attic and make it play wonderfully and it didn't break my wallet.

I was visiting Rochester and needed some work done on one of my electric basses, which had a recurring intonation issue. Bernie Lehmann did a great set-up job with a fast turn-around, and at a very reasonable price, given the expert work he did -- he solved the intonation issue! I would recommend him for anyone needing work on ANY stringed instrument.

I brought a new martin here to get a setup he did a great job with setup, I came in because I was in town looking for experience luthier. I gave 2 stars because I didn't notice till later on all the scratches this man had put in my guitar. I can string a guitar and not scratch I realize scratches happen, but respect a new instrument, send any gear to brothers music shop in wind pa, these guys are retired from martin and don't do the half a@@ job. And keep your instrument prestine. Masking tape and fixtures do sxist. I dont recommend unless you don't care about a luthier putting a ton of scratches on your investment
