BEWARE! Ordered a brand new guitar. They sent an email to be signed acknowledging their no return policy. I questioned this policy and they rambled on about not bonding with or the quality may have flaws. What? He stated he doesn't except returns on eBay and Reverb either which I see is true. Then I was informed if returned they will charge the shipping and credit card charges and you also have to pay the shipping back. Needless to say I canceled. Good grief! I definitely will avoid this place like the plauge.

Small, privately owned business. Great transaction! very kind and knowledgeable people. The guitar I got here is very special (D-15S) and hard to find, their products are very unique and their prices are very fair. Thanks again LA Guitar Sales!

I just Purchased an Eastman SB59 in Sun Burst. Ted and Helene could not have been more helpful in making it happen.3 days from point of purchase and it was at my door. Free delivery and a price I couldn't pass up. For the money it surpasses Gibson in terms of Quality and sound. Ted is a walking wealth of Guitar knowledge and is so easy to talk to and make a buy. I could not say enough about the service and reasonable pricing on the guitar in question. Eastman SB59, a fantastic guitar. Thanks Ted and Helene!

I just purchased an Eastman SB59 from Ted at LA Guitar sales and couldn't be happier. A beautiful Sunburst with SD 59's. Ebony fingerboard and a REAL Flame maple cap. Incredible detail all around. Ted and Helene could not have been nicer and made the deal impossible to pass up. Ted has an incredible wealth of guitar knowledge and is only to happy to share it. Great Store, owner and inventory.thanks Ted and Helene!

Ted and Helene are great. They were prompt, detailed, and made sure things were in proper order. What a wonderful experience. I've been trying to find this Martin uke for so long. Thanks for having it in inventory. I absolutely love it! Stay away from the big chain stores and give these folks your business!

The business promptly reached out to me with a professional and helpful message. Had I not ordered the guitar from a local (San Diego) location, I would gone back to LA Guitars. They carry hard to find guitars like Eastman so I'm happy they opened up communication so I have a dealer of higher end/boutique hollow bodies. FYI: According to the message, the best way to contact them is via email.

Very Helpful! I called to get information on a custom Martin that I was considering purchasing that originally came from their shop. I was super impressed with the gentleman's knowledge and courteousness as the person who was selling the guitar was the exact opposite. Thank-you! I am so sorry I've forgotten your name, but thank-you so much for your true kind and helpful spirit!

HORRIBLE. You would think during these times, if they are really interested in doing business, they would take care of inquiries. Yet, after contacting them via Reverb, email and phone, I just got the not-so-friendly runaround and no response. And gee, all I wanted to do was find out if they had a guitar in stock, if perhaps I could see it during their so called, "showroom hours, " and then buy. Wanted to buy locally but ended up ordering online from an out-of-state retailer. The guitar brand I bought from should be concerned a place like this doesn't give a damn if they get customers or not.

First of all be sure you understand this is appointment only business, they can work off pretty short notice to make it work though. So if you can plan ahead just a little I promise a great experience. Drove up from San Diego so I could hear Carbon Fiber Rainsong and other carbon fiber products before buying as I need a guitar that can deal with all the hazards of travel and outdoors. Ted was a gentleman and had everything lined up and ready to sample while at the same time I could pick his brain for even more information.

I understand these new technologies so much better because of LAG and the sound quality was tremendous. I bought the Rainsong parlor model on the spot and have not been able to put it down since. I really enjoyed and was satisfied with all parts of the purchase from experience to price, even after I had purchased I had some questions about other products some less reputable retailers were listing that Ted helped me to understand and responded to all questions right away. BTW just as much knowledge and great assortments in tremendous traditional wood products including Taylor. This is where I'll be buying all my guitars going forward

Just bought the Martin guitar of my lifetime from the very nice couple who run this shop. Took me some time to set up an appointment, as their in-store hours are limited (they do most of their business by mail) and I work full-time. When I finally made it in, they let me play the guitars I was interested in. Low-pressure sales situation. Still can't believe the deal I got on this brand new Martin.

They know a ton about the brands they carry. They walked me through registering the warranty with Martin, which I did as soon as I got home. I am thrilled to own this guitar and can't thank LA Guitar Sales enough. Highly recommend doing business with them.

After an excited two hour drive to the store from out of town to buy a difficult to find guitar, I can provide this cautionary tale about reading their Yelp listing with fidelity: The website is open 24/7. That is an important distinction, and a nuance I missed. The physical store is open, ''.by appointment on Monday through Thursday 11-3. You can call to set it up. 310.246.1933 Cheers

Do not sell your guitars on consignment with these people. I had to ask for status updates all the time and would never get anything other than "we'll get back to you." Only when I told them I wanted to come back and pick up my guitars did they say they had offers on two of them, but for less than the consignment price. When I told them I still wanted to come pick them up, when I got to the store, they said they had already shipped them out to a buyer that very morning because the buyer agreed to pay full price.

But they wouldn't give me a check for the agreed upon price because they said the buyer still had a return period. So I had to leave the store without my guitars and without a check for the agreed upon consignment price. How is that not stealing. I have no guitars and no money, and now I have to hope that they pay me for the guitars they sold even though I told them I wanted to come pick them up. Beyond shady. Do not sell your guitars through this establishment.

Beautiful shop! Stopped by to check out some guitars. When I showed up they already had the models I was interested in set up for playing. Had a tuner and picks available, and the guitars had fresh strings on them. I was told to let them know if I had any questions or wanted to check out any other instruments. After some back and forth between guitars, I decided on one of their custom Martin 000-15M.

There was no rush or pressure. Definitely recommend checking this place out. Their stock is very impressive! Just make sure to set up an appointment in advance and let them know what models you're interested in.

LA Guitar Sales is a fantastic shop. It's small and tucked out of the way but it has a lot of great stock. The owners are both fantastic people who treat their costumers well. Ted took a good hour of his time to just chat about guitars and the industry with me while I tried some out. There is no high pressure sales tactic going on and they genuinely want to help costumers find the guitar that speaks to them.

They have a fantastic range of composite (carbon fiber) guitars and a long history if expertise regarding them. Finally their prices are exceedingly fair compared to other shops. The is truely a gem of a guitar store.

New year 2019 brings a new guitar. I had a very pleasant exchange on a new Eastman guitar today January 2 with LA Guitar Sales. The presentation was my pick of two guitars of the same model. Played them both and made the decision with beautiful E1D. Price was agreed, warranty card, last check guitar check and off to casa Martinez. A very satisfied customer! Thank you!

The easiest guitar purchased I've ever made. Not to mention the best! I love Eastman guitars! The E20ss is a fine instrument. And LA Guitars is an excellent dealer. Ted and Helene are very informative and helpful. I will be making future purchases at this store. The hard part will be deciding which Eastman to purchase next. Maybe an electric?

Pleasant sales process and great experience for me, thus far. Purchased a guitar today received great information from them over the phone, which confirmed my decision. I plan to update this review later once my guitar has arrived.

Hands down the best selection of acoustic guitars in the LA area, an Ted is probably one of the most knowledgeable dealers in the business. They have a huge online following for good reason.

I had a great experience buying my guitar at LA Guitar Sales. Found out about them after hearing from people who had not-the-best experience at GuitarCenter and several of them recommended LAGuitarSales.com. Fortunately I'm local to their business, so I was able to meet with the owners at their showroom in Hollywood. (Tip - since they're mostly an online business, you should call in advance if you want to visit their showroom).

From the moment I walked in, Ted and Helene were very gracious with their time, demoing and talking about a dozen or more instruments. @MichaelG's review is exactly right, they're honest, frank, and really cool folks. This goes a long way toward helping someone buy the right instrument. Now here's the sign of a great store: I went in knowing exactly what I wanted to buy, and Ted brings out another guitar from the back "just wanted you to try this so you could compare" and I ended up buying that guitar instead.

A baby taylor acoustic unlike any other, resonates like it has a chorus of angels inside it. I'm in love with this guitar and play it every day! I highly recommend LAGuitarSales, and if you're in the area then definitely give them a call and visit the showroom; they're genuinely interested in helping people find the instrument that best suits them. Many thanks LAGuitarSales!

I've never been to LA Guitar. It's not that I don't want to visit - it's that they're open only 20 hours a week. Monday - Thursday 11-4. These are not customer or musician friendly hours. And I'm visiting here for the weekend, Friday through Sunday. So though it looks like they have a pretty good selection of carbon fiber guitars that aren't so easy to find in stock in the Bay Area where I live, I won't be able to try any out for myself.

I called and a salesperson answered the phone, and explained to me that even though "they have a really nice showroom, " 95 percent of their business comes from online. What do you expect if you discourage people from actually shopping in your store? Why bother to have a Sunset Boulevard showroom if you see yourself as an online retailer? And what about people who actually want to play a guitar before spending two or three grand before pulling out their Southwest Rewards card?

I owned and managed a camera store for about 5 years, so I am used to thinking about the business approach of company. I suspect that LA Guitar is probably missing a lot of business from both touring musicians with a short window to visit, and tourists and other visitors to LA. Well, there's always McCabe's. See you there!

They make me feel welcome. No rudeness or snobbery. I came in to try out a guitar I saw on their website, which is up to date and easy to navigate. They seem honest and really cool. Not too pushy, and also not trying to be disinterested. Just nice, frank people with a lot of really awesome guitars. I recommend checking out their website before showing up. They respond well to people who do their homework;

This place is fantastic! My first stop/call for new guitars and upgrades from now on. I just got my new mandolin from LA Guitar Sales and it was a great experience. They really know their stuff and make it a point to make sure you're comfortable. They said a lot of their business is done online, but you're missing out by not stopping in to see the store. It's an intimate 3rd floor haven for the acoustic fanatics.

They also have some custom made Taylors that will make your head spin. They picked the wood themselves and spend a lot of their time on custom orders. Once I have the money saved up, my next acoustic will be from them.

If you want a guitar, LA Guitar Sales is the best there is in Los Angeles. Ted and Helene, the owners, have years of experience and truly care about their customers. They stay on top of industry trends and always have the best selections! They even pick out the wood that's used for some of their guitars! Even if you are not ready to make a purchase they welcome you into their shop and you can try out anything and get educated in the process. Even if you are not in the area, they are online and just as helpful and awesome!

Five stars for LA Guitar Sales! Definitely the best guitar store in Los Angeles. My hubby and I always stop in when we're in West Hollywood. Great location, right on the Sunset Strip! The owners Ted and Helene are highly knowledgeable and have even picked out the wood used to build many of the acoustics, which is pretty cool. Always happy to give our business to these great people and glad they're online too for anyone outside of the LA area.

LA Guitar Sales is the coolest hidden gem, located right on the Sunset Strip. They sell the most unique guitars of the highest quality. The owners are totally awesome and have tons of experience in the field. They will sit and talk with you as if you are guests in their home. Amazing history there too. This is a MUST "check it out" place in LA.

If you're serious about your guitars, this is the place to go. Ted and the staff are SUPER knowledgeable, and their selection is amazing! Unlike the chain stores (you know who I'm talking about), these guys actually know what they're talking about and give you one-on-one attention. You really can't go wrong here.

I live in Alaska and wanted to get an Eastman E20P acoustic guitar. I went to Ebay and saw the page advertising the E20P on the laguitarsales Page. After I received it, I found several finish blemishes and knife marks on the braces inside the soundhole. Also, it was in need of a total set up - nut and bridge, plus truss rod adjustment. Inside the case pocket of the guitar was an Allen Wrench 2 1/2" long.

I asked the dealer about that, and he said I'd need one 3 1/2" long. He said he would have an Eastman Tech call me to tell me I needed a longer wrench. Why wasn't the right one included? Now I have to send it out to get a set up, and that will cost $350 with shipping. I was told that I could send it back at my expense for a refund. If you're local you might be able to work out a set up, but do it before you pay for it! If you are out of town, or state, do not bother!

Just spent some time there today checking out a few Martin guitars. Spent quite a bit of time with Ted, and all that I can say is that this place rules! They have a great selection of acoustic guitars, as well as some electrics. Very nice selection from all of the major brands, and all were very clean and well cared for, unlike some places that we all go. Ted was SUPER friendly and very knowledgable. I'm trying to get an idea of what my next purchase might be, and got some great insight into the different choices that are out there. It really reminded me of how great it still is to have independently owned music stores. Service and knowledge really do matter. I recommend this place HIGHLY!
