Since no one in our state stocks arranger keyboards anymore, or can even answer simple questions about them, I called Keyboard America. Mike answered my questions - I was not sure I believed him on all the answers compared to my Clavinova, but after I got my own, his answers turned out to be 100% correct. The Genos I first received had a defect that could not be detected by simply upgrading the software.

I called Mike and after some quick diagnostics had Yamaha speak to me directly. To make a long story short, Yamaha said it was manufacturing defect and authorized Mike to replace it within a couple of weeks. The replacement Genos has performed flawlessly and met all my expectations! I originally had trepidations about not being able speak face to face about my purchasing questions and service after the sale if there was a problem.

But Mike and Kathy at Keyboard America took the time to answer my questions and get me solutions when needed. I, for one, am glad they there and would have no qualms returning to them should I get the urge for another instrument in the future.

Living in Australia, I obviously have purchased my Genos from a local dealer, so cannot comment on face to face interaction however, a fellow Aussie keyboard player told me about Mike's tutorials, and I searched the internet for his site - KeyboardAmerica.com. The amount of information available for all on his YouTube channel is simply amazing & free.

The amount of effort put into producing each tutorial shows the enthusiasm Mike has for his music and the willingness to pass on to all his knowledge speaks volumes. I have purchased his Book Bundles, and have gained invaluable knowledge from same via the weekly emails and videos. Highly recommend Mike Mixon's keyboardamerica.com for keyboard tutorials.

I recently purchased my Yamaha from Mike Mixon at Keyboard America. Mike is such a nice person and really took his time helping me find exactly what I was looking for. I am so pleased with my piano and was thankful for his knowledge and advice. Mike and his wife Kathy are friendly wonderful people who go above and beyond at every single point on the customer journey. Thank you both! Christine Smith

My experience is a little bit of a story and I'll admit, I can be a tough customer if I don't get what I'm promised. I had purchased my Genos from another retailer and had it for about two weeks. I was getting frustrated trying to understand how to use some of the features and was doing a Google search for information. That's when I ran across Mike's business "KeyboardAmerica".

I was utterly surprised on the EXTENSIVE and DETAILED videos that Mike as taken the time to record and post. This is a very time consuming process and I can't believe that someone cares about transferring knowledge to this extent. Not just to HIS customers, but to everyone! Mike happens to enjoy the same music as I do, being the old standards from yesteryear, and had plenty of book bundles available for sale.

Being a previous musician a while back, I couldn't find my old music binder and was trying to come up with all the music by memory. JACKPOT! I found not only the information and instruction I was looking for about my Genos, but I also found all the music I needed! Long story short, I RETURNED my Genos to the retailer I originally bought it from (which by the way is no small task) and repurchased my Genos from Mike.

I received so much more from Keyboard America than I did from the original retailer. Books, music, microphone, stand, double warranty, pedals, midi files, etc, etc, EVERYTHING he promised was delivered and the Genos was PRELOADED and ready to go. Reached out to Mike about some questions and last weekend he spent an hour on the phone with me! Just as promised!

I have spent a bit of time on the phone with Mike both before and after the purchase. I really feel as though I have a FRIEND that knows the goal I have in mind (getting back out into the entertainment circuit), and he's skyrocketing me to that level with his book bundles. customer service and his personal touch. Do yourself a favor.stop looking and start playing!

Give these guys a call and you'll get EVERYTHING he promises and much more. By the way, I wasn't asked to write this review. I did it because I wanted to, and it's a well deserved review for Mike and his wife. who haven't forgotten the true meaning of customer satisfaction! Thanks Mike and Kathy. Keep doing what you do! Many Thanks. Keep Playin' Rich

I have had the pleasure to peruse this privately owned business since 2009 when I arrived in this area. This music store that specializes in piano and the keyboard categories has a very unassuming atmospheric environment. I feel very comfortable when I walk into this property. The staff are friendly and hospitable to say the least. The owner, Mike, is very approachable and has a great knowledge of the products that the store sells.

The stock is plentiful and quite varied. If anyone is in the market to make a purchase or thinking out the opportunity, this is a must see place that will give the purchaser a real good choice with a great price. I hope you will enjoy!

Was looking for a way to get rid of my old upright, so I called the store to see if they were buying/knew of anyone who just took old pianos free of charge. Whoever answered the phone said they were not interested in buying. As I was trying to ask if he knew of any companies that moved free pianos, he cut me off, said no one wants upright pianos, and abruptly got off the phone.

Wish I had time to add that I'm a music teacher who will absolutely not send any students interested in piano to this business. Very disappointed in the professionalism of this company.

In my opinion this is the worst company on the east coast. They damaged my home while moving in a piano and refused to own up to it. They called me a liar, a scammer and said I was trying to defraud their company for repairs. It should have been a simple solution. Extremely poor business practices and the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. It's a shame it's come this far. It's not too late Mike Mixon.

Owner is the most condescending man my husband and I have ever corresponded with. His movers scratched my floors and he won't own up to their mistake. He has called my husband names in order to defend his decision to defend his movers and say I was a liar. We have offered him the opportunity to come to our house and see for himself but his pride it too large to face a mistake. See his attached response to my husband's post on their website. Very immature.

I have not done a review on Yelp before. I am motivated to do so because people should know just how horrific the owner of Keyboard America is to deal with. I contacted the store on Monday and spoke to Kathy. She was fine to deal with and told me I would need to provide information that would be required to get an estimated cost for moving a piano that was being donated to our nonprofit organization.

I did not have the current owner's address (who purchased the piano from Keyboard America), but Kathy said she would be able to look it up based upon the name and some other information. I provided that information via email on Monday and followed up with a phone call on Tuesday around 11:00am. I told person who answered the phone why I was calling and that I had spoken to someone named Kathy the day before.

His response was "well you have to speak to me to get an estimate anyway and Kathy, who is my wife is not feeling well so she isn't in yet so give me the.". He asked for the current owner address so I told him that his wife said she could look it up based upon the owner's name which I provided in the email. I asked if he could look at the email and that should help with all the details.

He was talking over me the entire time and then he completely freaked out and began yelling at me for having the nerve to ask him to look at the email that had all of the information he needed. He then hung up on me. At that moment I did not know the name of the person I spoke with. I was flabbergasted at being treated so rudely. I called back and the same person answered the phone.

I asked for his name and he told me it was Mike and he was the owner. Again he began yelling at me and not letting me speak. I was shocked that a person, especially a business owner could be so rude! I eventually gave up trying to reason with this condescending, rude, arrogant individual and hung up. I would never use this company. I will tell everyone I know how horrible Mike is. I see most others who have dealt with this company have had similar experiences. Sad!

A short time ago I stopped in to Keyboard America with the possible intention of reviving an interest I had many years ago. I was greeted by Mike Mixon who listened to my goals and suggested the keyboard that would best suit my needs. Having no current knowledge I followed Mikes suggestion and could not be more pleased. There was no effort to over sell me and the support offered by Mike and his staff since that time has been beyond any expectation I might have had.

Anyone looking to cultivate a new interest, or as I did in reviving an old one could not do themselves a better favor than in contacting Keyboard America and talking to Mike Mixon or one of his staff.

A couple of years ago I purchased a Yamaha Tyros 5 from Keyboard America; an informative, easy, pleasantly engaging and cost effective transaction. Mike Mixon was so passionate in providing me with the guidance I needed to determine which keyboard I/we felt best for my then current and future keyboard needs. His recommended options, which ultimately led to the purchase of the Tyros 5, couldn't have been a better one. Mike is extremely patient, knowledgeable and available even after delivery of the instrument; don't get that kind of service much these days. Mike's wife Kathy made the final purchase process simple and efficient.

I could tell very early in my relationship with Keyboard America that Mike and Kathy truly enjoy assisting their customers and their business of providing instruments on which great music can be made. By-the-way. Mike's on-line tutorials are amazing! Not having a softcover for the keyboard, I recently called Keyboard America and spoke with Kathy. She indicated the store did not have a softcover for this keyboard and immediately went online to search for a place where I could purchase one.

After her search, Kathy provided me a link and bingo I now have a softcover for the keyboard. It was a delightful customer experience. Kathy truly exemplified excellent customer service. Thanks Kathy and Mike!

I was already planning to purchase a Tyros 5 and was looking at all the dealers and deals. It was early Sunday morning in June I saw a lesson on u-tube with Mike Mixon I was interested and called 800 number and was prepared to leave information for someone to call me on Monday. Well Mike answered the phone and was as pleasant and not upset That I was calling so early.

He said he would be glad to help me and give the price and bundle information if he could call me back as he was on his way to church. He called me back and told about his bundle on the Tyros 5 and I was sold, he took my information for financing and in a few minutes he said your keyboard will arrive Thursday and it did! I was very pleased and would recommend Keyboard America! The free lessons and support are great as well as the feeling I got a great deal an a great keyboard.

I was attracted to Keyboard America by the wide variety of keyboards on display. The salesperson, Monty, made a genuine effort to understand my goals and to show me keyboards that would meet my needs, without trying to oversell me. The after-sale service was impressive, with Monty and Mike, the owner, always available to answer questions and striving to ensure that I was familiar with all of my keyboard's features. I've purchased two keyboards from Keyboard America and recommend them for selection, competitive prices and customer service.

This place is awful. Their website says open until 9 and at 6pm they're closed. There's a big sign on the side of their building with a number to call and it says Wednesday through Sunday evenings call and they'll be there in 5 minutes. When I called the number the guys said his "Internet division" is open until 9, not the actual store. The Internet doesn't close buddy! Makes no sense at all. What a waste of time. I'll take my business elsewhere, even if it's a longer drive.

I have been driving by this place for nearly 15 years, and I decided today to stop in because there was a sign on the marquis that they were looking for help. I worked for Jordan Kitts Music for nearly 18 years in the Washington DC area, and for many years was the number one sales person. I sold everything from keyboards, pianos, organs, and worked for one of the top Steinway dealers in the country.

I was completely horrified when I spoke to the owner of this company. He was the most condescending, arrogant, entitled and nasty person that I have ever met in the keyboard industry. This man acted like he was doing me a favor by speaking to me, and refused to answer any questions about what he was looking for. His wife was equally as arrogant as he was.

I can say that I would never, ever, recommend anyone to go there to purchase even a piece of crappy sheet music, let alone a keyboard. What a complete disgrace and I certainly cannot believe that this man and his wife have been in business as long as they have. There are much better, more professional places to go to purchase a keyboard, even if you have to drive a couple of hours. K-Mart people are even more professional than this person.

The owner is a complete swindler and has a very condescending attitude. Don't dare ask him a series of questions or he will go ballistic. He should be selling used cars.

Wherever you are, buy a piano from Keyboard America in Lewes DE. Visiting the store is quite an experience. I have purchased pianos for my church and I just purchased the Yamaha CVP609PM. Mike, the store owner, played beautifully for me for about an hour on this new piano, demonstrating the numerous features. I never felt rushed and actually I got a good lesson for starting to use this piano.

They always take their time with you and give you a discount, which is better than any deal you will fine elsewhere. The staff knows the characteristics of each piano in the store, so you can get your questions answered quickly and accurately. This piano will change my life.
