Our contacts are extensive. Our instruments are gathered from many sources, including Sotheby's, Christie's, and Phillips auction houses of London, as well as Skinner's of Boston. We work with other shops from around the country, private collectors, and individual makers to fulfill the wide-ranging requests of our clients. We also appraise and broker collections.
Our services are comprehensive. We do repairs, fine restoration work, bow repair and rehairing, and appraisals. In addition, we maintain the most complete and reliable rental program in the country. We stock an extensive selection of books, sheet music, Suzuki materials, cases and accessories - some exclusive to JSI - that can be purchased directly from our stores in Massachusetts, by mail, or via the Internet. If you need anything for your violin, viola, cello, or bass, we have it!
Our instruments are exceptional. We have a dedicated staff of professional players and violin makers that selects each and every instrument and bow we offer. With degrees from the Chicago School of Violin-making, Shanghai Conservatory and the North Bennett Street School, among other fine institutions, together they offer a combined professional experience of over 60 years, coupled with a unique blend of artistic sensitivity and technical knowledge. |
