Had Ridgely Fisher come and move an upright piano from my friends house in Bowie to my house in South Bowie. Ridgely was very easy to work with and moved the piano well. My only complaint is that he said he would meet me at my friends house at 1 and he showed up 45 minutes early, loaded the piano, and left and had left before I arrived to meet him as we had previously agreed. Thankfully my friend called and gave me a heads up to call him and I met him at my house! I would recommend, just be very careful with times.

I purchased a Yamaha c3 from Crofton piano. The sound of the piano was high pitched in the store. Mr. Crofton stated that it will sound different in the house and if I'm not happy with it, he would take the piano back or install new strings and hammers for an additional $2,000. So I purchased the piano and it was delivered. The piano lid had a new 2" by 2" dent in it when it was shipped. Mr. Crofton stated that the lid was dropped during shipment but he sent a tech to fix it.

After a couple of weeks of the piano being in the house I informed him that the pitch is still very high and I would like to go ahead and install new strings and hammers as he had promised for $2,000. He informed me that he cannot do the job for $2,000 anymore and he would do it for $4,000. I told him that is not what he promised at which point he said now that I've purchased the piano things are different.

I stated that is not right and I would like to return the piano, at which point he said "sorry, I cannot take it back but will buy it from you". He offered me $2,000 less than what I had paid him two weeks prior. Be aware that Mr. Crofton will say anything to make a sale and will not honor any of his promises.

I was extremely happy with Crofton Piano. The young men who moved my piano showed up a little early and were quick yet gentle with the piano.

We had a beautiful 1926 Grotrian Steinweg Piano that needed to be refurbished and, unfortunately sold, so we called Crofton for the refurbishment and subsequently to sell it on consignment. Crofton Piano picked it up from my mother's home in Virginia, gave her a statement that she would get $15,000 upon it's sale, refurbished it and listed it on their website for over $45,000.

It hadn't sold in over a year and we weren't surprised by this.we knew it would take some time to find the right buyer. I finally called to find out the status of the piano only to be told that it had been sold on an installment plan to a "gifted pianist" for $6,000. At no point had we been contacted to approve this and Mr. Fisher claimed he "lost" my mother's contact information.

Finally after getting my attorney involved, he promised to send my mother monthly payments of $500 for a total of $6000 and we accepted since it was clear we were never going to see that $15,000. He sent two payments and the money stopped coming. My mother is on a fixed income and that money would have helped her a great deal. Steer clear of this rip off artist.

Mr. Fisher, the owner, is very knowledgeable, very informative, very honest, and a pleasure to work with. There are a few very lovely pianos, with nice tones and cabinets. I really liked that his warehouse is open to customers; the piano that my husband and I are purchasing is in there, waiting for us with a couple of coats of Danish Wood. He has other incomplete works in there, as well as some beautiful antiques, and he took the time to explain to us about the different kinds of pianos, tones, cabinetry, and tuning.

He also took the time to tell us about himself; been in the piano business for 43 years and builds/restores pianos himself. Very trustworthy. If he sticks around, I probably wouldn't go anywhere else but him to have our Everett baby grand serviced.

If you're in business for a piano or lessons, don't look any further than here! You won't find people more knowledgeable about these instruments or the craft of playing them! I take lessons with Audrey, and she is GREAT! The feedback I get from my lessons is extremely helpful, and my progress speaks for itself.
