Liz Reisman

Owner

Liz grew up playing the flute, alto sax and percussion. She studied flute performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music during her senior year of high school. She continued playing and performing in college, but after college, she switched gears, deciding to pursue a career as a journalist. She graduated from the Medill School of Journalism and then moved to New York City. After more than 20 years in the field, she retired from journalism to stay home with her kids. When both her kids were in school, she discovered a recently shuddered music store in the neighboring community of Monroe. Seeing an opportunity to return to her musical roots, she purchased the store and immediately began serving the musical needs of the area and surrounding communities. Liz's husband, a former trumpet player, is in the sports marketing business. Her two teenagers are involved in musical theater.

Ms. Reisman and her staff have been willing to go the extra mile for their customers. I needed a quantity of an item they don't regularly stock, and they promptly ordered it and had it shipped to me. They were friendly, courteous, good-humored, helpful, and everywhere in the store I could see their dedication to furthering music as an integral and valuable part of life.

We are located at 701 Main Street (Route 25) in Monroe, CT. Creative Music Center serves music teachers, school music programs and music students of all ages located in Monroe, Newtown, Trumbull, Easton, Shelton, Milford, New Haven, West Haven, Orange, Stratford, Oxford, Danbury, Southbury, Ridgefield, Darien, New Canaan, Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Westport, Weston and Fairfield.

Creative Music Centers' private lesson program has been in existence since 1984. Since our studio opened, our accomplished and dedicated teaching staff has worked with hundreds of musicians of all ages and of all abilities, whether they are starting out on an instrument or getting back to an instrument. All of our students enjoy all of the benefits associated with learning a musical instrument. Former Creative Music Center students have gone on to some of the most prestigious conservatories, including Julliard and Eastman School of Music.

Renting a quality, brand-name instrument is an inexpensive and therefore practical way to "try before you buy." With our convenient and flexible rental program, you can get your child started in a school music program without investing in an instrument before you know for sure your child is committed. Our rent-to-own program is designed to help students have success in music. We feature top quality student instruments at affordable prices. The best part? Unlike other rental companies, your payments - excluding tax and maintenance - go toward the purchase of the instrument you are renting or a better quality instrument.

Keeping your instrument in fine working condition is the goal at Creative Music Center's instrument repair shop. Our repair technicians for string instruments, band instruments and guitars use the finest quality tools and supplies to repair the most delicate of instruments. While each repair is unique, below is a general list of prices for basic repair services. David E. DeLong is a full-time senior professional Musical Instrument Repair Technician at Creative Music Center. After attending Allied in the mid-70s, he began restoring musical instruments professionally.
