Services
Founded in 2006 as a mail order business, Boston Drum Center opened a retail storefront adjacent to its warehouse in 2008. Strong local interest and a growing music education program forced moves to larger locations in 2012 and again in 2016. Thanks so much Sean for all your help getting my cymbal to me over here in Canada! Amazing customer service, Sean went above and beyond to correspond with me through email and make sure everything was lined up. Package arrived in about a week and it was packed with insane care and consideration. I recommend buying from Boston drum shop highly!

Staff is knowledgeable, patient and prompt with email inquiries. Prices are competitive, and there's a treasure trove of drum gear here. We're lucky this place exists!

Bought my drum kit here about 10 years ago. They could not have been more pleasant. They didn't oversell me anything. There was a problem with my order by the particular manufacturer. Drum center helped me out and made it absolutely right by me. I recently ordered an new head & some sticks. Ordered on line and it was at my door in 2 days. Absolutely incredible customer service.

I highly recommend them to anyone. A great place to do business with. I love supporting small businesses and am happy to spend my money here as opposed to big box store. Thank you all at Boston Drum Center! Cheers!

This was my first experience ordering from the Boston Drum Center. I like the appearance, feel, and sound of the Zildjian Avedis 20-inch cymbal I bought very much. Sean answered my technical and general questions quickly and thoroughly, taking the time to respond to all my e-mails and telephone calls. His customer service was excellent, and that impressed me a good deal. Also, his price beat the competition. I trust Sean's character and expertise and plan to order from him again.

A wonderful, independent, small business. Very friendly and accommodating and super knowledgeable. Their selection is superb. I would recommend any drummer, be it just starting out and looking for help, or looking for an amazing upgrade to come here.

Boston Drum Center is the best drum store I have ever visited. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff, unreal selection (of cymbals especially), and helpful videos online. (Online ordering, too.) Go check them out!

You will not find a better drum store. They do not push, or upsell. They're all drummers themselves, so they can relate to what you're looking for. Even though they sell high end stuff, they're not snobby at all. They take the time to work with me on a $100 snare. They can also order any part you need. You will love that place.

A personal, knowledgeable drum-shopping experience. Just a half-dozen or so kits, but a wide price range between them and only good kits they stand behind. They'll order other finishes and accessories, so don't let the size of the selection fool you. Loads of snares in-store too. Plus quality, friendly help. Skip the soulless mega outlet. And forget about online. Instead, feel good about yourself, your really nice kit, and that you contributed to a local business that knows what they're about.

Great selection of top quality drums, cymbals, hardware, sticks, etc. Etc. At least 500 cymbals in stock, a wall of snare drums, i saw a lot of gretsch and dw drums there. They offer lessons with 5 or so instructors. How did i not know about this place? I picked up a new K sweet crash there, they only announced the K sweet line the same week at NAMM, but this place had the full range. Knowledgable and patient staff. Full marks on all categories. Can't recommend enough!

I'm out-of-state and he had a fairly great condition Black Beauty snare. The person who handled the sale worked with me to make getting this amazing snare happen, and did it efficiently. He shipped it immediately and super packaged. I wish I were closer, but alas. Visit or shop with confidence.

I will keep this short and sweet.we all know the choices for instrument shopping are very limited to a few (mostly giants with horrible customer service). For drummers, it can be a nightmare at these places for many reasons (we all know so I won't list them). If you need anything drum related, please stop by Boston Drum Center. I recently was shopping for a cymbal and had no idea what to get.

There are lots of great cymbals out there and I was indecisive for sure. Well, the service I received at BDC was the best I have ever received! No joke. Their cymbal selection is extensive and I was able to test out many cymbals of all different varietys with the help of the (owner/manager?), he gave me great advice and really went above and beyond to make sure I was getting everything I needed. Please do yourself a favor and come here!

Boston Drum Center has an incredibly knowledgable staff and selection of drums and cymbals that will make you late for wherever you're headed next. Amazing stuff is always coming in (and going out). There is a reason this shop has endured while the other Massachusetts shops have closed. They also have a choice selection of used gear. Any drummer in Massachusetts NEEDS to check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

I'm writing a review only for their repair service - not their sales - because that's what my experience has been with. My overall assessment is that the folks at BDC are really knowledgeable and very nice, but were not the most professional when it came to dealing with me as a repair customer. When I dropped off my drum, I was given a reasonable cost estimate, and even though I told them that I wasn't in any hurry, was told they would call me in about a week with a better sense of how long the repair would take and to adjust the price estimate (based on hours of labor) if necessary.

The call never came. Several weeks, and then a few months went by, with me periodically contacting them for updates and them telling me that the work was just taking longer than expected. Eventually, the repair work slipped my mind for awhile and when I remembered it many months later, I emailed BDC telling them I'd like to come pick up my drum, and they said they'd have it ready a week later.

This was all okay, if not super professional, because I really wasn't in any hurry. When I went to get the drum shell, they were kind enough to say that the repairs were no cost, because it took them so long to get it done, which was great and a reasonable customer service move. But, in the intervening months, they seem to have lost all the hardware (hoops and lugs) that went with the shell, which will cost me a considerable amount to replace.

I really want to support independent businesses, and especially ones that are as specialized and knowledgeable as this. But, if you use their repair services, I'd recommend following up closely and staying in frequent touch, so something similar doesn't happen to you.
